The US Department of Energy has given Dominion Cove Point the thumbs up to export LNG from its import terminal in Maryland to countries with free trade agreements.
The operator plans to turn the plant into a bi-directional LNG facility.
Under the order, up to 1 billion cubic feet per day can be shipped out for a period of 25 years.
That translates into liquefaction capacity of 7.8
