The US Department of Energy has launched two studies to determine the potential impact of LNG export proposals on the domestic market, which could push back pending liquefaction applications.
The studies, one by the in-house Energy Information Administration and the second by a private contractor, will explore how exports will effect domestic gas consumption, production and prices, Deputy Assistant Secretary Chris Smith said this week.
