Production from Egypt’s Damietta LNG export plant dropped 40% in the second quarter.

Project shareholder Gas Natural said the year-on-year decrease to 5, 744 gigawatt-hours from 9,589 GWh in 2011 was mainly due to the political situation in Egypt.

“The Damietta (Egypt) liquefaction plant decreased production with respect to the same period last year, which was especially high due to the situation in the country at that time,” said Gas Natural in its latest results report.
