Petronas has formally signed up a consortium of Technip France, Technip Geoproduction and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering to construct its first floating LNG project.
The contractors inked the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contract Tuesday at the World Gas Conference in Malaysia, where the FLNG plant will be sited.
The 1.2 million tonnes per annum facility will be moored around 180 kilometres off the coast of Bintulu, Sarawak.
