French contractor Technip is in the driving seat to win an award for conceptual studies into a medium-size floating liquefaction unit to develop gas fields off Australia.
The work is expected to last at least six months and will centre on a 2 million to 2.5 million tonnes per annum floater, industry sources said.
Front-end engineering and design could start during the second half of the year, they added.
