Asset manager China Investment Corporation has agreed a preliminary deal that could could see it take the GDF Suez’s junior stake in the Atlantic LNG project.
The two outfits signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation “across multiple businesses and regions”, including gas, power, water and waste.
CIC said it is in advanced exclusive talks with GDF over a $3.15 billion investment for a 30% ownership stake in the French company’s exploration and production division.
