Chubu signs up at Wheatstone

Chubu Electric Power Company has inked a non-binding deal to buy 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG from the Wheatstone project in Australia.

Under the heads of agreement, Chevron and partners Apache Energy and Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company are expected to deliver the volumes to the Japanese importer for up to 20 years.

Chubu is already a foundation customer at Chevron’s Gorgon LNG export project in Australia.
