China National Offshore Oil Corporation has proposed building an LNG export plant in Cyprus.
Executives from the Chinese government-controlled company met with a Cypriot ministerial committee to present the offer, Commerce Minister Praxoulla Antoniadou said in a Cyprus Mail report.
Cyprus wants to build up to four liquefaction trains of 5 million tonnes per annum each to monetise some 250 billion cubic metres of gas found by US independent Noble Energy off the country.
