US terminal owner Cheniere Energy reported a $47.2 million loss in the second quarter as costs grew.

The quarterly loss compares to an $85.7 million profit in the same period of last year, when the $128 million gain from the sale of Cheniere’s stake in Texas terminal Freeport LNG kept the company in the black.

Cheniere Energy owns a lone terminal, the Sabine Pass LNG facility in Louisiana, where it is aiming to build a liquefaction plant to start bi-directional trading.
