Centrica mulls LNG exports hedge for North America gas

UK utility Centrica is eyeing a North American LNG export play.

The gas and power company, which has been playing a growing role in LNG, is examining a number of potential liquefaction projects on the continent, said a market source.

LNG exports would offer a “natural hedge” if Centrica also makes good on long-held ambitions to buy into North American shale gas production, the source added.
