LNG proponents in Australia’s eastern states appeared before a parliamentary panel this week that is examining the impact of coalbed methane production operations.



Upstream developers for three of the four liquefaction projects under way in Queensland made presentations on 9 August to the Rural Affairs & Transport References Committee.



At issue was the impact of CBM activity on the Murray Darling basin, a huge geological area that spans most of New South Wales, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory, and parts of southern Queensland and the corner of South Australia.
