Sempra Energy has filed papers to export up to 12 million tonnes per annum from its Cameron LNG import terminal on the US Gulf Coast.
The California utility’s terminal operations arm said it is finalising designs for a project to add liquefaction and gas processing facilities at the site.
The company kicked off the permitting process yesterday by asking the Department of Energy for a 20-year export licence.
