BC LNG Export Cooperative has secured a 20-year licence to ship out 36 million tonnes of LNG from its planned production project in western Canada.
The National Energy Board gave the go ahead for the developer to export an annual maximum of 1.8 million tonnes from the plant planned for Kitimat, British Columbia. Volumes will primarily head to Asian markets.
The developer is a joint venture of 13 parties including Tom Tatham’s LNG Partners and the Haisla First Nation.
