Brass LNG’s schedule has suffered another setback, according to Nigeria’s top oil and gas official.



Petroleum Resources Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke (right) said the greenfield liquefaction project is now set for sanction in the third quarter of 2012.



That means the prior goal of a second-quarter final investment decision is now off the table.



Lead shareholder Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation is “very confident” that FID will be taken under the new schedule, said David Ige, the government-controlled company’s general executive director for gas and power.
