The leaders of supermajors BP and ConocoPhillips view LNG as the best option to monetise Alaska’s North Slope gas.
The comments followed a meeting last week with Alaska Governor Sean Parnell over bringing the gas to market. The two outfits and fellow supermajor ExxonMobil discussed with Parnell whether to commercialise the gas from the US state’s frozen north via either an LNG plant at Valdez or a pipeline to markets in Canada and the Lower 48 US states.
