BG Group has signed up for more exports at Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG terminal on the US Gulf Coast, writes Eric Martin.
The 20-year deal for 2 million tonnes per annum ups the UK gas giant’s total commitment at the facility to 5.5 million tpa.
The agreement will likely be seen as a major boost for Cheniere’s plans to build four liquefaction trains totalling 18 million tpa at its under-utilised import site.
