The US Pacific Northwest is a “distinct market” that can host cheaper liquefaction projects than other North American regions, according to one developer.
Oregon LNG boss Peter Hansen said proposals such as the one his company is pursuing in Warrenton will benefit from cheaper gas supplies and shipping costs.
“The Gulf Coast can build all they want. It won’t make any difference for us,” he said.
“When you look at our shipping time to Asia it is nine to 10 days.
