A joint venture of Australian engineering outfit Thiess and Belgian contractor Besix has won an A$260 million (US$274.2 million) contract to develop the breakwater and materials offloading facility for the Wheatsone LNG export plant.
The so-called Best joint venture will design and construct the infrastructure near Onslow in Western Australia.
The partners said that they can offer local capabilities through Thiess, with Besix’s “international marine expertise”.
