The BC LNG Export Cooperative secured a 20-year licence to export 36 million tonnes of LNG from its planned project in western Canada.
Canada’s National Energy Board gave the go ahead to the developer to ship out an annual maximum of 1.8 million tonnes from the plant planned for Kitimat.
Volumes from the British Columbia project will primarily head to Asian markets.
