The government of British Columbia has agreed a land deal which is expectedto speed up the development of new liquefaction facility.
The BCgovernment agreed to lease or sell 1,730 acres of land along DouglasChannel to theindigenous Haisla community represented by the Haisla First Nation.
According to the BC Minister of AboriginalRelations and Reconciliation Ida Chong, thedeal “has the potential to fast track a major LNG facility in the Kitimatarea”, adding that it will also “provide certainty for investors”.
