BC LNG Export Co-operative this week sent out nominations to its 17 members for gas supply and off-take at the Canadian liquefaction project.
The LNG Partners and Haisla First Nation-backed venture, which wants to develop the mid-scale Douglas Channel LNG plant near Kitimat, British Columbia, has requested bids be returned by 19 October.
LNG Partners boss Tom Tatham said he expects the nominations process will take until the end of October, after which financing and the engineering, procurement and construction contract for the project can be finalised.
“We would hope everything could be in place for the first week in November,” he said.
BC LNG has already secured back-up contracts designed to serve as opening bids for the nominations process.
