The list of buyers champing at the bit to secure LNG volumes at US export projects continues to grow.
Companies interested in booking capacity or sales agreements include Asian and Latin American utilities as well as Japanese trading houses. Some of the players that have already secured US exports are actively seeking additional cargoes.
“We could sell 10 trains,” said Cheniere Energy chief executive Charif Souki.
The company’s Sabine Pass LNG import terminal is poised to become the first to be converted to an export facility after buyers committed to all four planned trains.
