Australia Pacific LNG is said to have secured US$2.8 billion in project financing.
The Origin Energy and US supermajor ConocoPhillips-led export joint venture inked the 16-year loan with a consortium of nine banks, Bloomberg News reports.
The partners are building a two-train, coalbed-methane fed plant on Curtis Island in Queensland state.
Origin, an Australian exploration outfit, and ConocoPhillips each own 37.5% of the APLNG joint venture, with Chinese off-taker Sinopec holding the rest.
