Excelerate Energy has been given the go ahead to export LNG from its planned floating liquefaction project in the US.
The partial consent from the Department of Energy only covers shipments to countries which hold a free trade agreement with the US, however.
Houston-based Excelerate can export up to 10 million tonnes per annum of LNG for 20 years from its Lavaca Bay LNG project on the Texas Gulf Coast.
