Three major gas producers are close to wrapping up negotiations on the development of the North Slope oil and gas field in Alaska.
BP, ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil are expected to decide on whether to go ahead with a $40 billion LNG export project by month-end, according to the Financial Times newspaper.
The companies are considering a large gas pipeline to Alaska’s southern coast, where they could ship out LNG to Asia.
