Three senators introduced legislation aimed at boosting LNG and compressed natural gas fuelling across the United States.



The New Alternative Transportation to Give Americans Solutions Act of 2011, or NAT GAS Act, will extend tax credits for LNG and CNG-fuelled vehicles.



It will also provide incentives for building fuelling infrastructure.



The bill follows similar legislation proposed in the lower House of Representatives.



The bill was introduced by Senators Robert Menendez, a New Jersey Democrat; Harry Reid, a Democrat from the state of Nevada who is the Senate majority leader; and Richard Burr, a Republican representing North Carolina.
