A free trade agreement which will allow for the export of LNG from the US to South Korea has gone into force.
The US-Korea FTA (KORUS) “will provide new market access opportunities in Korea’s dynamic trillion dollar economy for US exporters”, said US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The agreement will mean importing nation South Korea will join the list of countries with which the US can send LNG under Department of Energy authorisations.
