The US Department of Energy has delayed release of a third-party study into the domestic market impacts of exporting LNG until late summer, according to reports.

The move is expected to push back a raft of liquefaction projects waiting for approval of LNG export licenses to countries that do not have free trade agreements with the US.

The government commissioned two studies, one in-house and another by a private contractor, to help it decide on the applications.

Findings from both studies had been due in the first quarter this year.
