Thailand will import LNG and fuel oil to make up for a lack of natural gas production when a gas field goes down for maintenance next month.

The Yetagun field will undergo annual work between 8 April and 17 April, which will halt the supply of 1.1 billion cubic feet per day from Myanmar.

LNG and fuel oil will be brought in to fuel Thailand’s power plants during the period, Permanent Secretary for Energy Norkun Sitthipong told Bloomberg.
