Tokyo Electric Power Company posted a rise in LNG imports in April as coal and crude purchases fell.
The utility and major LNG buyer grabbed 1.62 million tonnes of LNG in April, the first full month since a massive earthquake and tsunami devastated the utility’s nuclear capacity.
The figured marked a 5.5% increase on the 1.54 million tonnes Tepco bought in April 2010.
