Taiwan has confirmed a 1.6% slip in year-on-year LNG imports in May, marking the first year-on-year drop in seven months.
The island brought in nearly 1.04 million tonnes of the fuel compared to 1.06 million tonnes in May 2010, according to Bureau of Energy data.
The latest figure was an increase on the 1 million tonnes imported in April of this year.
