Taiwanese LNG imports surged in January as economic recovery continued to fuel energy demand growth.
The country brought in 844 million tonnes of the fuel during the period, a 22% jump on the 691 million tonnes imported in January 2010, according to figures from the government’s Bureau of Energy.
It was the third straight month of growth after October’s one-month lull in rebounding LNG purchasing.
