Taiwan posted a slight rise in imports during March, the fifth straight month of year-on-year improvements.

The country, Asia’s third largest LNG buyer, brought in 856,000 tonnes during the month, up from 848,000 in March 2010, according to Bureau of Energy data.

CPC Corporation, the nation’s lone importer, paid an average cost of $549 per tonne.

The price marked an increase on the $468 per tonne a year earlier but was the lowest monthly average since November 2010.
