Korea Gas sources have acknowledged the outfit is in talks with Qatar for a short-term supply deal as it approaches the spot market more carefully.
The world’s largest single purchaser of LNG is not revealing details of the discussions, and a company source says market rumours of as many as 40 cargoes are untrue.
“We’re in a very preliminary stage to fine-tune all the details and specifics,” he said.
