Spain’s LNG imports are continuing their downward spiral as economic malaise and increased coal-fired generation continue to eat away at demand.
The shipment figure for May is expected to come in at 2.85 million cubic metres, a decline of nearly 10.1% on the same month in 2011, according to data from grid operator Enagas.
However, this month’s imports total is deceiving as more than 479,000 cubic metres has left the country in the form of re-exports.
