Brazil is poised to experience more lacklustre LNG imports in the second half as a return to normal levels of rainfall sustains hydroelectric generation.



Market observers are betting on strong imports growth in the years to come from this relatively recent entrant to the LNG scene, however.



Expectations of a slower year come as Petrobras pursues plans to double import capacity by 2014 but has put on hold efforts to produce LNG from offshore associated gas (see page 3).
