India’s LNG import capacity could jump to a massive 62.5 million tonnes per annum by 2020, according to terminal operator Petronet LNG.

The forecast from Finance Director Shri Garg was made at an industry conference in Singapore, Reuters reported. The projection would mean a boost of 363% from current import capacity of 13.5 million tpa.

India plays host to two operating import terminals and has several more on the drawing board.
