- Japan’s top utilities reduced their LNG purchases in June for the first time in a year and a half. The country’s 10 regional power utilities bought 4.42 million tonnes for the month which was 0.8% less than a year earlier, according to the Federation of Electric Power Companies. This is the first time since December 2010 that the companies have not bumped up their purchases year-on-year, said Bloomberg.
