At the top end of the scale, BG Group is understood to have splashed out a whopping $125,000 per day to fix one of new entrant Stena Bulk’s two 174,000-cbm and promptly available newbuildings.
The UK-listed company is said to be shelling out a slightly lower $112,000 for Excelerate Energy’s nine-year-old and somewhat smaller 138,034-cbm Excalibur (built 2002).
