• Qatargas is boosting short-term LNG supplies to Japan to more than 20 million tonnes in a display of increased support for the Asian customer in the aftermath of last year’s earthquake and tsunami, which resulted in a nuclear meltdown. The volumes improve on the 9 million tonnes of short-term supplies originally declared last autumn. Qatargas also said this week that production has resumed from its train 7 liquefaction unit following an earlier shutdown to replace a faulty motor.
