- Japan boosted its LNG imports by 18% in the first half of this year. The Ministry of Finance said some 44.6 million tonnes was shipped in. Supplies from the Middle East and Russia rose while volumes from Asia fell as contracts were terminated. Japan imported 227,000 million tonnes of re-exported LNG from Europe during the period.
- Production at Egypt’s Damietta LNG export plant dropped 40% year-on-year in the second quarter.
