ConocoPhillips has shelved longstanding plans to shutter the Kenai LNG export plant in Alaska (pictured) and will continue operations at the facility this year.



“Due to unexpected LNG export market conditions, normal liquefaction operations are ongoing and resulting in the production of additional export cargos in 2012,” the supermajor said in a filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.



“The status of export production in 2013 and beyond is unknown at this time.”
