Kansai Electric has begun work to restart two nuclear reactors over the weekend in a move that could help cool Japanese LNG demand.
The utility, a major LNG buyer, received the green light last week from Ohi Mayor Shinobu Tokioka to restart its number 3 and 4 units in the city, according to media reports.
Once operational, the reactors will become the only atomic units out of 54 in the country that are operational.
