Japan posted another month of ramped up LNG imports in May, a month spent mostly without nuclear power.
The country brought in 7.06 million tonnes of the fuel, a 16.8% increase on May 2010, according to Finance Ministry data.
May saw Japan lose its last operating nuclear power plant when Hokkaido Electric shut the number 3 unit at its Tomari generation facility on 5 May.
