Japan’s top power utilities posted a 13.8% year-on-year increase in LNG purchases last month.
Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan, made up of the top-10 utilities, said its members imported 4.52 million tonnes in September versus 3.97 million a year earlier.
LNG consumption experienced a bigger jump, rising by 23.1% to 4.36 million tonnes.
