Japan’s LNG imports could reach 85 million to 90 milliontonnes per annum in the current fiscal year.

Japan Gas Association chairman Mitsunori Torihara told theWorld Gas Conference that the 10% hike on the 2011-2012 fiscal year, whichended 31 March, could take place if no nuclear reactors in the country are ableto restart.

“At the moment I have to say we are quite uncertain how manynuclear power plants will be able to be restarted,” he said in a Reutersreport.
