Australian environmental regulators have approved an offshore gas development that will provide feedstock for the Chevron-led Wheatstone LNG project.
Apache, a junior partner in the LNG venture, said it has received environmental permits covering its Julimar and Brunello fields off Western Australia.
The US independent applied in April to drill 17 production wells and install three production manifolds in permit area WA-356-P.
