GDF Suez is in talks with Japanese end-users over a term supply agreement, accelerating a broader push into Asia-Pacific LNG markets.
On the production side, the company and Italy’s Eni, the senior partner in Indonesia’s Jangkirk field, have also have begun commercial talks with Pertamina to export gas via the Bontang LNG plant.
In addition, the French gas and power group this week unveiled a strategic partnership for a floating LNG terminal on India’s east coast that includes a 26% capacity stake.
GDF Suez has already sold spot cargoes into Japan and the eventual term deal adds to similar commitments in four other markets in the region.
