Gazprom has signed a letter of intent that could see the company buy LNG from partners in the Noble Energy-operated Tamar gas fields off Israel.
The Russian giant’s Gazprom Marketing and Trading subsidiary said it will study joint opportunities with the gas fields’ partners, as well as shipyard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and Kathleen Eisbrenner-led Next Decade.
The LoI paves the way for non-exclusive negotiations for 2 million to 3 million tonnes per annum over 15 to 20 years, Reuters reported.
