Gail (India) has signed a sale and purchase deal for exports from Cheniere Energy's Sabine Pass LNG in the United States.
The company, a government-controlled gas distributor with a stake in Indian terminal operator Petronet LNG, will take 3.5 million tonnes per annum over 20 years, with an option for 10 more.
The volumes will come from train 4.
The deal will also see Gail take 200,000 tpa from train 2 while it waits for the third train's start-up.
